FABA Position Statement on Fraud, Waste, and Abuse

FABA has released an official position statement addressing the growing federal and state scrutiny of fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in Medicaid-funded Applied Behavior Analysis services in Florida.

This statement was written for legislators and policymakers to ensure that decision-makers have an accurate and clinically informed understanding of the issues at hand. It draws a clear distinction between criminal fraud (i.e., organized, intentional misconduct) and the legitimate, ethical practice of ABA providers across our state. It also calls on the appropriate enforcement bodies to target wrongdoers precisely, so that families who depend on medically necessary ABA services are not harmed by overbroad policy responses.

We encourage you to read the full statement and share it within your networks, particularly with anyone engaged in policy, advocacy, or regulatory matters.

FABA remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting and advancing the practice of behavior analysis in Florida.

Thank you for your continued membership and support.

The FABA Board of Directors
