Home-Based Therapist


Job description:

The May Institute's Southeast Region in Jacksonville Beach, FL, is currently seeking a
Home-Based

Therapist to provide 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) instruction to a young child with autism in a home environment.

This is a part-time position (3-5pm, Monday-Friday) for 10 hours/week.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a BCBA (supervisory hours for BCBA/BCABA exam available!)
  • Assist in assessments
  • Implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction procedures
  • Assist with activities of daily living
  • Provide consultation and feedback to parents, schools, and other caretakers as appropriate
  • Work as part of a team to develop goals and objectives
  • Participate in clinical and team meetings
  • Document intervention plans, goals, and outcomes as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and experience with ABA preferred
  • Self-motivation with ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Job description:

Responsible for the development and implementation of behavioral reviews, assessments and plans for children and adolescents in the Children and Adolescent Psychiatric Program.  The CBA shall meet all requirements set forth by the State of Florida and the national certification standards for a certified for behavioral analyst.

Qualifications:

Certified Behavioral Analyst will have a minimum of a Master’s Degree and be certified in the State of Florida as a behavioral analyst with (3) years of experience with children and families in a behavioral health setting.

BCBA responsibilities include conducting functional assessments and analyses; developing individualized behavioral treatment plans; training parents and other caregivers on treatment plans; and monitoring & adjusting treatment plans as needed. BCaBA primary responsibilities include direct implementation of Verbal Behavior programs in addition to above. Develops and monitors programs designed to meet the needs of individuals with autism and related disabilities, including residential living facilities, early intervention services, early childhood special education programs, afterschool care, and adult programs.

Subsequently, this position also works closely with clinical treatment team, parents, legal guardians, schools, medical professionals, and others involved in the client's life to assist in coordination of services and that a team approach to treatment is taken.
